i. Overview
Developed as a joint venture between Shell and Baker Hughes, JewelSuite plays a crucial role in ensuring safe and responsible energy production. My five years on the platform spanned three distinct chapters — SDK builder, platform evangelist, freelance quality coach.
ii. SDK Development & Technical Leadership (2014–2015)
As a Senior .NET Developer, I was instrumental in developing the SDK and API that would become the foundation of the JewelSuite platform. Beyond coding, I served on committees focused on code quality and unit testing, helping establish robust development practices that would scale with the platform’s growth.
iii. Platform Evangelism & Support (2015–2019)
As JewelEarth Platform Evangelist, I transformed how developers interact with our platform:
- Established and structured the entire Support department, creating comprehensive procedures and workflows from the ground up.
- Developed and delivered an innovative 3-day SDK course to over 150 participants worldwide — Saudi Arabia (Daharan), Houston, India (Kerala), Sofia, and Delft.
- Created an engaging training scenario where participants model meteor strikes and drill for water on the moon, making complex technical concepts accessible and memorable.
- Served as the principal technical contact for external developers building JewelSuite extensions.
- Presented development tools at major industry conferences, including the world’s largest energy conference.
- Guided ecosystem partners in leveraging the API/SDK to create and commercialise their software solutions.
iv. Quality Engineering (2019)
Returning as a Freelance Software Engineer, I led a cross-cultural development initiative:
- Spearheaded plugin development while managing an offshore team in India.
- Served as a quality coach, implementing best practices in programming methodology and code quality.
- Successfully integrated international team members into established development workflows.
- Delivered high-quality software components while elevating overall team capabilities.
v. Key Contributions
- Built and launched a comprehensive SDK / API that became the foundation for external developer success.
- Created an internationally recognised training programme that educated over 150 developers across five countries.
- Established a support infrastructure that continues to serve as the backbone for developer assistance.
- Successfully bridged cultural and technical gaps in international team collaboration.
- Demonstrated expertise in both technical development and developer relations.
